Some words are just geekier than others. The media and the ubiquity of computing has certainly increased the use of many of such words, but I realize that many people just don't enjoy computer nomenclature the way the computer geeks do. So, although this tutorial is technical, plain english will be used as much as possible. When an explanation just can't work without some of these geekier terms, those who don't know what a technical term means can look for a (GS) beside the or word. Hover your mouse pointer over the (GS) and a short explanation or definition will appear in a floating bubble on the page. Go on, try it now (GS).
